For the first time in a long time, I don’t have ANY food pictures to show you. I made a little pledge to myself at the beginning of the weekend that I would just have fun and enjoy myself.
Our weekend plans included hitting the road immediately after work on Friday to head to Kansas for some QT with Hubby’s family. First stop was Panera in Waterloo, which did not disappoint. I love that place.
Next stop was Hoyt (just north of Topeka), Kansas, where Hubby’s dad lives. On Saturday, we had a big get-together for Hubby’s grandfather, who turned 88 I think. I got to meet some of Hubby’s cousins that I had never even met- crazy. It was a fun day, with lots of yummy food and drinks. Some highlights were the strawberry coconut cake and Jaime’s pina coladas and 7-layer dip.
The next day we hung out at Hubby’s dad’s house and got some sun at the pool, where we both got fried. Then it was off to Lawrence, Kansas, to visit with his mom and sister. We ordered some Glory Day’s sausage and corn pizza- delish.
It was a short trip, as we headed back late on Sunday night. Worth it to have a full day at home the next day though, and not have to deal with Tyler in the car during the daytime. We just grilled out with some friends last night and stuffed ourselves.
Pretty wordy, I know, but here are some pictures from the weekend- mostly from the big party on Saturday. And mostly of Tyler. ![]()
Now back to the real world… finishing up charts for the night. Hopefully I’ll get a new recipe out this week- it’s been awhile!
