A little peek into my life as a midwest mom, wife, and chiropractor…

Kombucha Experiment

on May 3, 2012

I guess it’s not really an experiment.  I just tried Kombucha tea for the first time today.  After my morning conference call and my time with Tyler, I headed out to Dubuque to do a little shopping.  After getting a new dress and new swimsuit, I stopped at Hy-Vee for groceries.

I stocked up on Smart Chicken (no water added, no hormones, no antibiotics, etc.) and some other goodies that I can only get at the HealthMart section.  On my way out, I picked up a bottle of Cherry Chia Synergy.

Supposedly kombucha tea is supposed to have amazing health benefits, like giving you energy, improving digestion, and has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties.  I thought it tasted good, and I loved the little chia seeds in it.  However, I drank it about half an hour ago, and I just feel a little nauseous all of a sudden.  Maybe I drank too much.

Just two food pics for today.  This morning I had opened up a new box of Kashi cereal thinking maybe Tyler would like it.  It was too crunchy for him though… oh and it tasted like dog food.  I still ate a whole bowl though.

Lunch was just another PB sandwich, but supper was a grilled chicken breast (marinated in Italian dressing) with more grilled veggies.  This time I steamed the carrots and broccoli ahead of time, so it tasted way better.  There’s only a little chunk of chicken because Tyler got to the other half.

We sure had a lot of fun with our little Tyler tornado today.  He’s so much fun.

Such a stud muffin.
